What’s being built
Cenovus's West White Rose platform was built at the Argentia fabrication site and is now roughly 85 per cent complete, with platform testing finished and drilling under way. First oil is expected during 2026, though that date has slipped within the year, and peak production of about 80,000 barrels a day is forecast by the end of 2029. Around $2 billion of capital remains. Commissioning work favours pipefitters, welders, electricians and instrumentation hands.
