The Port of Argentia plans a 448-metre dock with three berths and a roll-on/roll-off ramp, backed by about $38 million federal and $15.1 million provincial funding against a roughly $100 million project. Construction was to start in 2026 and finish around 2027. It is worth watching rather than counting on: the collapse of the wind-hydrogen projects that were to use the port, plus a reported tax dispute, have put the business case under pressure. Marine piling, heavy civil and steel fabrication are the trades involved.
