What’s being built
Bay du Nord is a deepwater development about 500 km off St. John's, holding an estimated 400 to 430 million barrels. Equinor now owns 100 per cent of it after bp exited in July 2026, and the development application was filed in May 2026. It is not sanctioned: the final investment decision is targeted for early 2027, with first oil around 2031. Nothing is being fabricated yet — the pin marks the St. John's supply base that would serve it.
